Education


Mr. Ffrench earned his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law, where he graduated Order of the Coif.    While attending the UCLA School of Law, Mr. Ffrench also served as a teaching assistant and won multiple American Jurisprudence Awards. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara.


Representative Matters

Mr. Ffrench’s experience includes representation a broad range of clients, from startups to public companies, in a variety of industries, including technology, security, healthcare, insurance, automotive, manufacturing, software development, and medical devices.  Mr. Ffrench has represented clients in a diverse range of transactions including the acquisition and sale of companies, initial public offerings and private placements of debt and equity.  Mr. Ffrench’s transactional experience includes multiple roll-up acquisitions for clients in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries with values over $20 million, purchases and sales of automobile dealerships, a $52 million follow-on offering for an internet-based auction company, a $30 million private financing for a toy retailer, the $36 million sale of a division of a public dental management company, and a $25 million private placement for a disease management company.

Thomas Ffrench

Thomas Ffrench, founding partner of Corporate Finance Law, Inc., focuses his practice primarily in the areas of corporate finance and venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, and securities and SEC compliance.  He has extensive experience with general corporate and contract matters, as well as mergers and acquisitions, venture capital transactions, and both public and private financings. 


Mr. Ffrench began his career at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, an American Lawyer Global 50 firm and later practiced at Morrison & Foerster, one of the largest law firms in the U.S., with over 1,600 attorneys worldwide.  Mr. Ffrench’s previous experience also includes serving as an in-house attorney with Verizon Wireless, one of the largest providers of mobile phone service in the nation.


Mr. Ffrench has served as general outside corporate counsel to companies in a variety of industries that did not want the expense and overhead of employing in-house legal departments. He advises members of executive management and boards of directors on strategic and corporate governance issues, including disclosure and compliance issues under both the Securities Act of 1933 and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, including matters relating to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, AMEX, NYSE, and NASDAQ rules and regulations, and general corporate matters.
